1)Is it harder to repair hair that has been pulled out due to different styling techniques in african american women?
2)Is there a cost difference for ethnic patients? or because it is self induced hair loss and not genetic
3) Where does the donor hair come from? would I be able to choose?
4) If i wanted to come from out-of-state, could i get the consultation and the procedure done in the same day?
5) Since this is an elective procedure is there financing available, I am a college student?

1)Is it harder to repair hair that has been pulled out due to different styling techniques in african american women?
NOT REALLY. LOST HAIR IS LOST HAIR. WE JUST REPLACE THE AREA THAT IS LOST.
2)Is there a cost difference for ethnic patients? or because it is self induced hair loss and not genetic
NOT AT ALL. WE GO BY THE EXTENT OF HAIR LOSS NOT ANY OTHER CRITERIA EXCEPT IF WE HAVE ENOUGH DONOR TO DO IT. IN SOME INDIVIDUALS WHO HAVE VERY LITTLE DONOR (NOT THAT COMMON) WE CAN ONLY DO A LESS EXTENSIVE REPAIR.
3) Where does the donor hair come from? would I be able to choose?
FROM THE BEST AREA THAT WE CAN HARVEST SAFELY, TYPICALLY THE BACK SIDE. WE CAN TALK ABOUT AREAS THAT YOU WANT TO HARVEST BUT ULTIMATELY YOU NEED TO LEAVE THAT TO OUR BEST EXPERTISE BECAUSE YOU MAY WANT TO HARVEST FROM AREAS THAT ARE UNSAFE OR UNREASONABLE.
4) If i wanted to come from out-of-state, could i get the consultation and the procedure done in the same day?
NOT REALLY. YOU SHOULD DO A CONSULTATION VIA EMAIL OR BY PHONE FIRST. YOU CAN EMAIL EMINA@HAIRTX.COM TO START THINGS ROLLING. SHE AND I WILL WORK TOGETHER TO GET YOU THE BEST STAGE, PRICING, ETC. WE WOULD ALSO GET THE RIGHT CLEARANCE, ETC, THAT ARE ALSO NECESSARY BEFORE DOING IT.
5) Since this is an elective procedure is there financing available, I am a college student?
YES, IT IS. WE OFFER CARE CREDIT. THE MAIN THING I WANT TO KNOW IS IF YOU ARE A WOMAN. IF SO, I CAN DO IT IN YOUNGER PATIENTS. FOR MEN, IN THE EARLY 20S I AM ALWAYS WORRIED ABOUT FURTHER HAIR LOSS THAT COULD MAKE MY RESULT UNNATURAL OVER TIME.

I wanted to add on a question? I'm an Asian male in my late 20's that has thinning hair. My hairline is slowly receding, but thinning more aggressively. What do you normally do in this situation? Do you wait until things thin and recede more or are you able to graft in the thinning areas before it totally recedes?

that is a difficult question. if you are in your late 20s, i need to see you to make that decision. i am always worried about ongoing hair loss in a young patient and that you might run out of hair as you get older. if you have good donor supply (donor density) and not significant hair loss then you have a better chance that i will be able to keep covering the area of ongoing recession. however, you will continue to lose hair at such a young age and once you commit to a hair transplant you will almost definitely need a few more rounds to cover the ongoing hair loss so you need to know that. more directly to answer your question, i tend to blend into the surrounding areas for a younger person to predict future loss so go into areas where i see you are thinning if you are younger to minimize the chance that you need to come back sooner than later. hope that makes sense.
