Hi Dr. Lam. I'm probably the first to post something like this... but here goes. I'm a M to F transgendered person (mid 40s), in the early stages of the process. My hair had begun to thin quite a bit at the crown and temples (MPB). I started using minoxidil last March, and started HRT (T blockers and estrogen) about 4 months ago. I have noticed some new growth in both areas, but still "young" hair and fairly thin. I know this will take time, but looking for some options to make this better short and long term. I even considered extensions during this awkward stage, but heard they can really damage the hair. For now it's either wigs or hats, and I hate it.
Based on what I'm seeing so far, is it best to keep doing what I'm doing, and give this new growth a chance and see what fills in over the next 1+ years? Or do you think there might be a better option for me now?
I was impressed by the videos / photos of the hairline work you did as well. I don't think I'll ever get back what I had when I was 18 ) - so crown / hairline transplants may be a very good possibility once I have taken all other appropriate actions to get this mess under control.
Thanks for your time. Happy New Year!
