Hi Eli,
Thanks for the questions. Yes, there are many solutions to working with eyebrows. Tinting them is a great start but may not provide enough volume. Obviously, permanent makeup can help but oftentimes can look too strong and not as soft as a transplant would.
A hair transplant to this area can look very natural if done by the right surgeon. There are a few considerations when thinking about hair transplant to the eyebrow region:
1. The hair must be placed to precisely match the hair angles that a natural eyebrow assumes, meaning a club shape to the inner part of the eye and a fish tail pattern in which the outer portion blends and approaches one another. We do that very precisely. See our results in the eyebrow transplant before and after gallery.
2. The hair should be taken from the finest nape of the scalp so that they match existing hairs to the greatest extent.
3. You should know that you will need to trim the hair every couple of weeks because it will grow like scalp hair. Sometimes, after a year or so, the hair actually can start to slow down and become finer to resemble the pattern of how hair grows in the brow region. This is known as recipient dominance in which the recipient eyebrow skin begins to influence the way that the hair is normally growing. (Not a guarantee that this will definitely happen or when.) The opposite would be donor dominance which is the principle of modern hair restoration in which the hair from the back of the head transplanted to the front of the scalp as in male pattern baldness will not be lost because the hair maintains the genetic predisposition of the occipital (back) scalp of not being programmed for hair loss.
4. The cost is about 6500 or so. I can't recall the exact number.
5. You may need a second round to get a very thick result but not always.
6. It should look so natural that no one can tell (if done right by the right surgeon, i.e., me.)
