Hi Dr Lam,
I hope you dont mind answering another hairloss question for me.

What is the best way to measure or guage my hairloss?

I am considering non surgical hair restoration options; will i notice signs of the hairloss stopping before the new hair growth? Or is it common for certain areas of the head to react differently then others?

Im just wondering if the hair growth from rogaine (or other non-surgical product) could possibley be "patchy" or grow in un-even..

great question jason. the original FDA trials talked about the crown as being the area where propecia and rogaine work but that is only because that is where the focus of the study was on. actually, we know today that both medications work equally well across the entire scalp. of course, you may see more growth in one area compared to another based on the degree of hair loss, miniaturization (hairs becoming thin and wispy as part of male pattern baldness), etc. however, uneven patchy results should not be a concern of yours with rogaine and propecia. hope that helps.
