i'm 20 and would like to have a hairline transplant.. heres a photo of my current hairline

i want to make it more rounded, could you do the FUE method? i dont have any balding in the back or top.. just at the temples and its been like this for as long as i can remember..

i understand that down the line my initial hairline could thin more, so would you recommend propecia after the transplant?

at 20 you may be a VERY DANGEROUS CANDIDATE for hair restoration no matter if you use FUE or FUT. the transplanted hairs from the back of the head will linger on the front of the scalp like a row of ducks with progressive hair loss. how do i know you will lose more hair? i don't, and that is exactly the point. my crystal ball is so cloudy at 20 that i have no idea what your future will be like. i know some major chains will operate on you without blinking. please stay safe and not rush to do a transplant. it is not a great first line option for you. talk with an ETHICAL transplant surgeon before jumping in with both feet. also, talk with a physician about propecia. typically a 20 year old is a very good candidate to rebuild some lost hair at that early a stage. hope you are not offended by the comments. just trying to do my best to navigate safe waters for you.

thanks for the reply.. i have a few more questions.

will propecia work for my temples where there is currently no hair whatsoever? like right now my temple as you saw in the pic is completely balded so does that mean there is no chance to regrow hair from that spot?

i am about to start using some rogaine to atleast stop the rate of balding, but it feels like i've been stable with this hairline for some while now which is why ive been thinking about HT but i understand what you mean..
i live in the metroplex actually, i might call sometime next week and maybe book an appointment..

ok, great. i would be happy to see you. yes, propecia can work on the temples. if you never had there to begin with then no. if you absolutely have no hair there then less likely. if you have a few faint ghost hairs (vellus hairs), the yes, it will more likely work. there are no absolutes with propecia. but hopefully those guidelines help.
