Hi Dr. Lam,
thak you so much for preparing this site as information source, helped me a lot to find out enough answers to my questions, first of all, I am writing from abroad, and I want to have may hair and eyebrow transplanted. I have already consulted with a local doctor for the operation, he said I need at least 3000 hair pieces for upper area of my head, acctually I am not bald but hair density is quite low, by the way, I have been using finasteride since october 2003, so I have managed to stop hair loss and gained a little bit by shaving and massaging my shaved head everyday for afew months. My question is about eyebrow transplant, end of my eyebrows are looking downward and I look naive like my mother eventhough I’m not, so I also asked for my eyebrows to be lifted up, doctor said that the hair in the area of eyebrows is so weak and can not be transplanted because they don’t live there in the transplanted area, so we need to get hair from the back of my head. The first problem using the hair from back side of my head is that they are long and needed to be trimmed every week, and other point, what can I do with hair in my eyebrows looking downward, they need to be plucked, my question is is there any chemical, methode or something to increase the rate of the transplanted hair not fall off and live in the new area, if possible the hair at the tip of my eyebrows would just be lifted up only afew milimeters and won’t need any further treatment,

unfortunately there is no magic way to change the angles of the eyebrow hairs or to easily recycle them from other eyebrow hairs. the finest one hairs from the back of the head is still preferred. and yes, you will have to trim them every week to every other week for the first 1 to 2 years. oftentimes after that the hairs begin to slow down in their growth due to what is known as "recipient dominance" where the hairs do not grow as fast like normal eyebrow hairs because of the influence of the local eyebrow skin tissue on the hair follicle. what is your age and degree of hair loss. as you probably know in general i do not like transplanting hair to the thinning top scalp unless you are 30 plus in age (with a few exceptions for 20 somethings).

I’m so sad that you can’t do any magic, by the way, I’m male and my hair started to fall out at 18 yeras of age, now I’m 36. The reason why I loose hair is only having high Testosterone inherited from my father's side and I stopped loosing 7 years ago with Finasteride. When searching on internet, I’ve come across Copper Peptide, do you think it helps using jell or spray before, during or after the HT operation? I really mind having brush like eyebrows. As I mentioned before, there is no missing point in my eyebrows and the only reason for having a surgery is not to look naive, of course the surgery is not essential in my situation but I’m considering having the outer ends of my eyebrows lifted up a little bit with FUE methode, I may look more attractive with this way,

i do not believe copper peptide or any of those formulas really help. there have been no conclusive studies to show that. if you are doing just eyebrows then FUE can be done. if you are looking for a large session combined with the top of the head, i still prefer a strip harvest because the yield and survival of the grafts are much better.
