Hi Dr. Lam,
I am a 33 year woman who has lost volume in both eyebrows from excessive waxing and tweezing. In addition my eyebrows are very light so I would have to darken them with cosmetics anyway, even when they were full. Now that I don't have enough hair for makeup to adhere to they end up looking very unatural. It makes me very uncomfortable, especially when I see myself in pictures, proving how harsh it looks. Thats why I don't want to explore the option of permanent makeup.
I have tried many topical solutions consistently with no results. And frankly I am a bit scared of long term effects of placing chemicals like that so close to my eyes. I really would like to have the eyebrow transplant surgery done because it seems to be the safest and most natural option. My problem is that my hair naturally is curly. I know that the doners are taken from the nape of the neck, where my hair actually lays a bit flatter anyway. Have you done eyebrow transplants for people with curly hair? Have they had positive results? I know the hair will have to be trimmed like the hair on your head, but will I have a problem with the hair laying flat when it is short? Also this may sound strange but have you done transplants using someone else's hair? It would be ideal to use someone else's straight dark hair to achieve the result I want, but that may be completely unrealistic.Would the body reject it because it does not belong to the doner? Thank you for your time and opportunity to ask questions in the privacy of my own home.
